August is Wellness Month

yoga-1434787__340

August is Wellness Month and August 15th is Relaxation Day. Every day should be thought of as “Wellness Day”, but the truth is that caregivers rarely put themselves first. Sometimes our lives are so busy that we simply feel there is no time for extra steps for our own wellness.

Perhaps you are someone who incorporates wellness into your everyday life and if that’s so, then kudos to you! Even those of us who try our best to practice wellness regularly could find one extra act of kindness we can do for ourselves to promote wellness. Maybe that’s an extra yoga practice for the week, trying a new fitness class, learning to play Pickle Ball or being more mindful of with what we are fueling our bodies.

The thought of making healthy changes can be overwhelming and sometimes it is necessary to take it one step at a time. Why not use the month of August to incorporate some new healthy habits?

We would like to encourage you to be mindful of your wellness this month to help get you started on some new healthy habits! Please share a photo of you being mindful during Wellness Month on our Facebook Page and you can be featured on a future blog. We ask daily acts of self-care lead to a lifetime of wellness. that you use the hashtag #ccnjwellnessmonth. Help us to raise awareness of self-care for caregivers, seniors, and the members of our community!
